Elopak and Variopak Packaging Companies join Co-Operation Agreement

The agreement between the two companies suggests that Elopak will reinforce the gable top beverage carton business that made the company so popular. The two companies will also create a co-operation focusing in the development of new, untouched packaging solutions and packaging business. The agreement is also intended to strengthen the leading position of Elopak within the premium segments of the beverage and liquid food filling and packaging markets.

Elopak is known as the European market leader for chilled dairy and premium juice packaging solutions. Doing so, the company is today engaging within three major segments of it´s business. These are juices and other beverages, dairy products such as milk and other and food and liquid food products. Elopak is developing and manufacturing not only machines and equipment for such filling and packaging applications, but also is highly engaged into packaging concepts and corresponding packaging materials.

They offer a wide range of filling and packaging solutions to the industry. These include the famous Pure-Pak cartons as well as bottling systems for plastic bottles. Now with the co-operation agreement settled with Variopak, Elopak will be able to even further strengthen it´s top market position.

Variopak themselves are also not unknown to the packaging industry. They have entered the gable top beverage carton market 25 years ago already. And since this time they have grown to be the number three supplier for this packaging technology within the European packaging market.

Bjoern Flatgard, who is the CEO of Elopak, has commented about the agreement. He stated that the transition would be another important milestone in Elopak´s highly focused market strategy. He said that Elopak will focus on organic growth with it´s main customers and will put increased attention in the direction of further innovation and product development. The company will also look for more aquisition in the near future in order to secure and increase it´s leading market position.

It can be taken for granted, that the agreement signed in between Elopak and Variopak will have a very positive effect on their gable top packaging business with secured profits and growths for the comany. Variopak will be regarded as an important partner for Elopak. The co-operation is also meant to bring some synergy and quality improvements to the service field as well as improved relationship to their customers.

Variopak's owner Willem Korstanje said that the liquid packaging segment will require strong key market players that will be ready to face and handly future industry challenges. He said, that the co-operation agreement will be beneficial to both companies, Variopak and Elopak at the same time and will create a strong position against their competitors.
